Will the steak & eggs diet help a hardgainer build muscle?

One of my newsletter subscribers wrote me an email and asked if Vince Gironda’s ketogenic steak and eggs diet would help a hardgainer build muscle.

The answer is yes and here are three reasons why:


Reason #1
Its hard to miss meals on the steak and eggs diet

Most hardgainers eat inconsistently.

They miss meals, they skip meals . . . before long, instead of eating the excess of calories needed to gain muscle, they eat fewer calories than they burn and start actually losing muscle.

This is especially common when a hardgainer tries eating the typical 6-8 meals per day.

Well, because Vince Gironda’s steak and eggs diet consists of only two, MAYBE three meals a day, it is almost impossible to miss one of your scheduled meals.


Reason #2
A high-fat diet makes it easier to consume more calories

Another reason why hardgainers tend to eat too little is because they just don’t like eating as much food as they should.

A way around this problem is eating more “caloric dense” foods.

You see, fat contains 9 calories per gram, more than twice as many calories as protein or carbohydrates, which only contain 4 calories per gram.

Since the staples of the steak and eggs diet (beef, whole eggs, butter, etc.) contain so much fat, a hardgainer will have to consume a much smaller volume of food to get the same calories as he would on a lower fat diet.


Reason #3
A high-fat diet will increase your body’s natural production of testosterone

Other than not eating enough, hardgainers tend to have low testosterone levels.

Since testosterone is necessary to build muscle, this can be a real problem, especially for older hardgainers, whose testosterone levels may have diminished anyway, due to age.

Believe it or not, fat, especially cholesterol is a “hormone precursor” for testosterone.


Believe me, if you’ve been having problems building muscle or burning fat on a “healthy”, low-fat diet and you switch to a high-fat diet like Vince Gironda’s steak and eggs diet, you’ll notice the difference in your strength, stamina, even your sex drive!
