Low-Carb Spicy Beef & Cheese Meal for Ketogenic Diets

This is a recipe for a high-protein, high-fat, low-carb meal that you can make in about eight minutes.

I like it because its not only cheap and easy to make, but it is also very filling and tastes good, too!


 Low-Carb Spicy Beef & Cheese


200g raw chopped beef
shredded cheese (make sure it has zero carbs)
hot sauce (make sure it has no added sugar)
OPTIONAL — salt (if you feel that you need added sodium)


Macronutrient Profile:
57g protein – <1g carbohydrate – 46g fat – 662 calories


Put 200g of raw chopped beef in a frying pan or griddle on medium heat.  If you are using a non-stick pan or griddle, you do not need to add any oil.

Add hot sauce and pepper to the chopped beef, to taste.

OPTIONAL — Add salt if you want to add some sodium to your diet.

Throughly cook the chopped beef on both sides, adding hot sauce, pepper and salt every time you turn it over.

Remove the chopped beef from the pan when it is cooked to your liking, put it on a plate and add the shredded cheese.


NOTE — Salt has been villainized by the media because it can be detrimental to your health if taken in excess.  However, the sodium found in table salt is not dangerous in moderation and is actually necessary for hard-training athletes.

If you find yourself craving salt, it may be because you lack sodium, an important electrolyte.  This happens sometimes as you train and drink large quantities of water, because you lose electrolytes through perspiration.

If I find myself craving salt, I replace the sodium in my body by eating bacon or drinking bullion or by adding it to my food in the form of soy sauce or table salt.
